Weekend Update, a question and a video
Update
We are focusing in what the experience for users in our DApp, Smartists, needs to be, and we are considering new use-cases and 'personas'... then, a few days ago, I came across this article I wrote a while ago [June 2020] introducing our services: “A painter, a musician, a writer and a teacher… looking for solutions on the web”.
That’s ok, but I actually prefer to hear real stories, because solutions are better shaped with actual experiences. So, if you want to tell us your needs and expectations when thinking of Smartists, contact us at hello@smartists.net, with the subject matter: I have a use-case.
Question
In our Forum I have posed this double question to open a necessary discussion about independent artists vs brands on the web3:
Can independent creators survive without brands?
Can brands survive without independent creators?I also wonder… on the web3 can independent creators finally and effectively become their own brands? What can be the role of brands for creators… clients, supporters, sponsors…?
See the topic in the forum, here, and tell us your thoughts.
Video
There is a short video from the author of the book “Art, Money Success”, Maria Brophy, you may want to check. I already posted this link in our Discord #art-business-ideas channel, and I wonder what you think about it.
Maria and Drew Brophy share their best practices to build a good business model selling and licensing art works in the real world. Now, blockchain tech could make possible to bring to the web most of Maria’s advices. At Smartists we would love to contribute to this, so many artists of any field can benefit.
Thank you for reading this newsletter, and for sharing the Smartists project with any artist or art-user around you.
Have a nice Sunday and week ahead!
