Dear Smartists friends,
This is a summary of the present state of Smartists Licenses, with my final reflection before stepping down from leading the Smartists Community.
I have included at the bottom of the page some links in case you want to contact me, and to participate in this community. I will keep our media for communication during Q3 as a window of opportunity for anyone wanting to join our mission for independent artists on the web3, and/or to take the lead of this Smartists Community.
Mirlo Smartists Licenses explained
I have edited a series of three videos explaining the licenses developed for Mirlo Music during this Q2.
How to get licensed to use our master files
Mirlo Music is using smart contracts designed at gamma.io creator’s portal and forms designed at BlockSurvey.io . Both applications are built on Stacks, so we use the Stacks-STX wallet, and all transactions settle on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Whether you are an artist or an art-user, if you are interested in some similar solution to what we are designing here for Mirlo Music please contact me. Also technical people are more than welcome to contact me or comment on our Discord if they think this is a project that deserves a better implementation. See how to contact me at the bottom of this article.
My farewell reflection
I started looking for solutions for independent artists in 2017, from the moment I understood how blockchain tech could dramatically change the lives of independent artists bringing their creativity to the web. I took the time to research and learn, and not finding the solutions I envisioned I became a builder myself…
Yet, being a senior author-illustrator did not put me in the best position to found and manage a startup, and I failed in developing the DApp.
Nevertheless, for those wonderful teammates who believed in our project and for the community we have, I had to deliver what I had. This is the reason I am happy to have convinced Mirlo to bring to life theses first IP licenses.
Now, the time has come for me to go back to my work as an author. I do it with a sense of having done all I could to bring awareness on the importance of IP management on the web3. Moreover, I thank Mirlo for the chance to make a point about possible solutions with their Licenses.
As mentioned above, I leave below the way you can still participate in the community and keep in contact with me, at least for the next quarter [Q3]
