‘Friendly Documentation’… are you kidding me?
Smartists Terms of Service
Hello Smartists journey companion!
Here I am not addressing you as a user or potential user of Smartists, but rather as a fellow web3 builder.
I know that talking about “Terms of Service” is an unusual move. Apps let know their users about their terms just when they need them to agree for the use of the app.
I am also well aware that Legal Documentation is usually overlooked by users, despite in the real world we all take very much care of our deals, and with who we are dealing with, especially when interesting businesses derive.
Smartists is all about interesting businesses for artists and art-users. Therefore, I think it is actually worth to have a look to our Terms of Service.
Is that even possible?
Our legal advisor and I have tried to write these terms in simple words, avoiding all jargon, for an easy understanding. After all our users are supposed to acknowledge and agree. So I hope we have managed to express all about our services, and also about our commitment to defend fundamental rights like Privacy and Intellectual Property.
At this very moment we are making the last revisions to include the Documentation in the mvp as soon as possible. Such documentation includes:
Terms of Service
Confidentiality Agreement (NDA)
Smartists Licensing System
Terms of Service
In just a 2-page document, we address the essential points of our deal:

If you have read this far, thank you, and feel free to send us any comment.
The service we are building is new on the Internet, as far as we know, and explaining it doesn’t come easy. So we very much appreciate those who are starting testing our mvp.
We have a welcoming NFT for those of you opening a Studio on Smartists and providing feedback in this 3’survey. The NFT will give you access to a private channel in our Discord server where decisions will be made.
We are very fast progressing towards our MVP-2, which will include the possibility of selling NFTs with use-licenses, and we are looking forward to sharing all about it.
But remember that as technology empowers artists and art-users, both artists and art-users need to be aware of their responsibilities. “With great power comes great responsibility!” and yes, at Smartists we intend to help bringing transparent information.
