Dear Smartists Pioneers,
I want to start with a big thank you, just for your interest in this project.
These past weeks have been very hard testing privately and fixing some bugs for the smart contracts to work as we intented. Everything was finally solved, and anyone interested is invited to contact me on Discord to set a time for testing in Testnet.
But his letter is also, and very specially the starting point of that new stage of decentralization I announced in a previous newlsetter.
I have been learning about DAOs and governance on-the-go, as I know they are setting new basis for future businesses. Nevertheless, after a meeting with Orlando (StackerDAO), and after some readings and videos on the matter, I believe DAOs still need a bit of time before being really efficient for projects like Smartists. I also know that Smartists is far from having a well defined business structure even though we have done some research about a possible business model.
On our side, we have a small community of very valuable individuals, who can set the foundations to stand and join forces for the rights of independent self-managed artists. And this is the premise to build the tools we actually need to thrive on the web3.
Considering all this, I think it is an optimal time to get organised as Smartists Pioneers, and do it with the ‘DAO spirit’ in mind, in order to benefit from the technology that is being developed, when the time comes.
As the founder and project lead of Smartists up until now, I want to step forward to bring transparent information about where we are, and what are the next steps we should decide together.
For this I will set the first Smartists Pioneers Meeting in the next days via Discord —> Smartists Pioneers channel.
My most grateful regards,
Georgina Mauriño, Smartists Founder and Project Lead.
P.S. All those reading these lines who wonder how to become a Smartists Pioneer, you can find out here.
