Dear Smartists teammates, this is our October Update.
1
UX-UI DEVELOPMENT
I am happy to announce that Smartists has reached an agreement with Infinite Labs for the UX-UI development of a first version of the Smartists dApp to be tested by real users.
The Smartists team is working closely with Infinite Labs in order to provide self-managed artists a useful tool to connect with peers and clients as well as to manage their digital files as NFTs from their own studios.
If you want to know more about what we are building and ask us any question about the Smartists development, we are all ears!
2
COMMUNITY
In our Smartists Discord we opened chats in English and in Spanish, as well as voice channels.
Among the different blockchain-based projects out there, this is one of a kind because it designed with artists in mind. Connecting Developers and Artists may seem very unusual, but I believe it’s worth trying it for the sake of a better future for authors in the next web3. We want to give voice to the real owners of Intellectual Property, artists-authors who own their copyrights.
Join us the Smartists Discord to connect with a community building a dapp creator focused.
3
LEGAL
Last but not least, we are working to provide Smartists with the best legal framework, and our smart contracts will be compliant with the principles of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). So we recently attended the webinar hosted by WIPO introducing an overview of their white paper for Intellectual Property Blockchain ecosystems. Let’s remember here WIPO’s mission “to lead the development of a balanced and effective international IP system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all.”
In the middle of another NFTs wave, attending to this webinar and other researches about how different marketplaces address copyrights, we feel confident we are working in the right direction for our future users. Moreover, we are very well placed to fuel a necessary conversation between developers, art creators and also law makers, because for us, it’s all about bringing the fundamental rights artists enjoy in real world (Intellectual Property, Freedom of Speech and privacy) to the web 3.
If you want to talk with me, and open a conversation about all this, starting next October 28, I will host recurrent Ask-Me-Anything [AMAs] every Thursday at 4pm (CEST) on our Discord —> voice channel “in English”.
See you!
